I'm reprinting some excerpts from my postings in Sendai, Ishinomake, and Tokyo Japan..........Lord Bless, Mike
Ishinomake 7/13/2011:
"As we approached the end of our last day in Sendai it hit me!
We only had a couple of hours to start another project. A Japanese family who had lost their fish market needed some help digging through the ruble trying to salvage what was left of a once thriving business. We decided we could at least make a start for the next team coming in.
We only had a couple of hours to start another project. A Japanese family who had lost their fish market needed some help digging through the ruble trying to salvage what was left of a once thriving business. We decided we could at least make a start for the next team coming in.
We worked for about 2 hours and had to make the 1½ hour drive from Ishinomake back to Sendai. The stench was so overwhelming, I was nauseated. I threw away my clothes and shoes, but I still had that smell haunting me.
The thought of how God could use such a tragedy pestered me. But as we met that evening I was told by Pastor Chizou Sakarai that Japan has been very resistant to the Gospel and growth has been slow. But as of late they are opening up and looking for answers. And many are coming to the saving Knowledge of Jesus Christ."
I will always remember the thrill they felt having the help but even more so, the look of heartbreak on their faces as we pulled away. We all felt the pain of having to leave a job uncompleted. ……The work will go on for years… But the hope of Jesus Chris will last forever!"
Hi Mike. Very much appreciate what the Lord did on this trip. May God give vision and further leading for the continued work of His spirit through missions. PB
