Belize Update

All going well down here, we are truly a team at this point in time. Starting to finish some of our jobs.
God is working everywhere we turn.

Not all work, river float and Mayan ruins climb yesterday and down to the Caribbean Sea tomorrow, God keeps giving and giving.

We all will come home with so much "more of God" than when we left.

Belize Update

All are doing well, Natalie twisted ankle but back on feet and going strong. Had to use my "leadership" to put her on sidelines, not so fun being leader at times.

Driving to town got stopped at police check point, Mr Mark didn't like that much, glad my dl was not expired, also pulled off side of road and got van stuck, I said it was for team building, ya right.

Going to church in Los Tombas, amazing how all CC look alike, no matter where.

Group getting along good, all involved, good chemistry it seems.

Update from Mark

God got us all here safe and sound. Thx for your support. Don't think anyone slept on the red eye flight. Think I am on adrenaline now, should be asleep!!

More Excerpts From Japan

Another quick tale by one of our Calvary Chapel Houston team

"We were handing out quilts and bibles to the people in temporary homes.  An older woman answered the door and I said, "This is a gift for you from America," in Japanese.  She started crying and grabbed my hand, saying, "Thank you."  She kept pointing to the sky and her heart and back to the stuff I had handed her and I nodded my head yes as I told her that it was a gift from Jesus."

Excerpts from Japan Postings

I'm reprinting some excerpts from my postings in Sendai, Ishinomake, and Tokyo Japan..........Lord Bless, Mike

Ishinomake 7/13/2011:
"As we approached the end of our last day in Sendai it hit me!
We only had a couple of hours to start another project. A Japanese family who had lost their fish market needed some help digging through the ruble trying to salvage what was left of a once thriving business. We decided we could at least make a start for the next team coming in.
We worked for about 2 hours and had to make the 1½ hour drive from Ishinomake back to Sendai. The stench was so overwhelming, I was nauseated. I threw away my clothes and shoes, but I still had that smell haunting me.
The thought of how God could use such a tragedy pestered me. But as we met that evening I was told by Pastor Chizou Sakarai that Japan has been very resistant to the Gospel and growth has been slow. But as of late they are opening up and looking for answers. And many are coming to the saving Knowledge of Jesus Christ."
will always remember the thrill they felt having the help but even more so, the look of heartbreak on their faces as we pulled away. We all felt the pain of having to leave a job uncompleted. ……The work will go on for years… But the hope of Jesus Chris will last forever!"
