More Excerpts From Japan

Another quick tale by one of our Calvary Chapel Houston team

"We were handing out quilts and bibles to the people in temporary homes.  An older woman answered the door and I said, "This is a gift for you from America," in Japanese.  She started crying and grabbed my hand, saying, "Thank you."  She kept pointing to the sky and her heart and back to the stuff I had handed her and I nodded my head yes as I told her that it was a gift from Jesus."

Excerpts from Japan Postings

I'm reprinting some excerpts from my postings in Sendai, Ishinomake, and Tokyo Japan..........Lord Bless, Mike

Ishinomake 7/13/2011:
"As we approached the end of our last day in Sendai it hit me!
We only had a couple of hours to start another project. A Japanese family who had lost their fish market needed some help digging through the ruble trying to salvage what was left of a once thriving business. We decided we could at least make a start for the next team coming in.
We worked for about 2 hours and had to make the 1½ hour drive from Ishinomake back to Sendai. The stench was so overwhelming, I was nauseated. I threw away my clothes and shoes, but I still had that smell haunting me.
The thought of how God could use such a tragedy pestered me. But as we met that evening I was told by Pastor Chizou Sakarai that Japan has been very resistant to the Gospel and growth has been slow. But as of late they are opening up and looking for answers. And many are coming to the saving Knowledge of Jesus Christ."
will always remember the thrill they felt having the help but even more so, the look of heartbreak on their faces as we pulled away. We all felt the pain of having to leave a job uncompleted. ……The work will go on for years… But the hope of Jesus Chris will last forever!"

Jesus is Alive and Well and Moving in Japan

Just wanted to share a quote and video from our Calvary Chapel Visalia/Calvary Chapel Houston Missions Team that returned recently from a 10 day missions trip to Sendai, Ishinomake, and Tokyo Japan.

"We were walking down a street in Tokyo about to go shopping and we heard yelling.  We turned to where the noise was coming from across the street and saw a parade-like march.  Some of the team started cheering, not knowing what it was even for, and then we noticed they were holding up signs saying, "Japan for Jesus.  Jesus is love."  They were chanting, "Jesus loves you!" through the streets.  Being that only about 1% of Japan's population is Christian, it was really unexpected and so incredibly awesome to see what God is doing and how He is working in Japan!"
